About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Diagnose behavioral health, substance use, and other medical disorders according to CPT definitions
  • Prescribe evidence-based treatments for diagnosed disorders
  • Bill rendered services accurately and promptly according to billing laws, coding requirements, payor requirements, and agency policies
  • Document billable and non-billable clinical events in the electronic medical record
  • Coordinate patient needs with the broader clinical treatment team
  • Provide professional leadership, mentoring, and guidance to treatment team members
  • Meet productivity and organizational performance expectations
  • Translate technical language for patients, families, treatment team members, and community partners
  • Provide services at assigned programs
  • Follow documentation policies for assessments, care plans, treatment transitions, discharge plans, and client care
  • Collaborate with internal and external multidisciplinary teams
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards set by licensing boards and state regulations
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to meet licensure, certification, and agency requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in physician assistant/associate studies
  • PA license in state of practice
  • DEA license to prescribe medication and controlled substances in state of practice
  • Waiver to prescribe buprenorphine if applicable
  • Ability to diagnose behavioral health, substance use, and other medical disorders
  • Ability to prescribe evidence-based treatments
  • Compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, professional standards, and Valley policies
  • Preferred: 1–2 years of previous PA experience
