About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform direct clinical activities including patient intake, blood draw, pharmacy calls, EKG and provider-required tests
- Accurately document in an EMR system according to licensure and Valley Medical Group policies and procedures
- Maintain close working relationships with practice staff to ensure proper workflow, care and treatment
- Perform front desk activities including patient registration, billing, insurance, and safe visit protocols
- Support the Practice and professional staff as directed or requested by the Practice Manager/Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey
- Formal coursework in office management, database management or business
- Current and valid certification as a medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners, such as AMT, AAMA, or NCCT
- Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician’s office or outpatient setting
- Previous customer service/data entry, administrative/office management/clerical experience
- Understanding of the operations of a medical practice preferred
- Strong orientation towards high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care
