About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Function as a lead technologist overseeing daily workflow
  • Prepare for and operate a CT scanner according to specific physician orders
  • Produce detailed computer-generated scans for diagnostic and interventional information
  • Assist patients onto the scanner
  • Verify patient identification before scanning
  • Select patients from the worklist
  • Ensure exams are archived on PACS and completed properly in RIS
  • Maintain facilities in proper order
  • Keep abreast of new CT procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completion from an accredited Radiology Technology program
  • Registered by the ARRT
  • One year of practical experience as a staff radiologic technologist preferred
  • CT experience preferred
  • Must obtain advanced CT registry within one (1) year of employment
  • Registered in Radiologic Technology and CT by the ARRT
  • Current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association
  • Physical dexterity to operate sensitive equipment
  • Ability to perform a variety of CT exams on patients
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and vascular systems
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (oral, written, presentation) skills
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail
  • Ability to change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations
  • Ability to respond positively to changes in the work environment and adjust according to patient needs
  • Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system and with patients, family members, co-workers, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications, Word and Excel desired
