About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently perform and report laboratory findings
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
  • Comply with FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO regulations
  • Perform and evaluate complex laboratory testing accurately and efficiently

  • Provide training and guidance to students and new staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certification at the Medical Technologist level (ASCP, AMT, or Equivalent), or categorical certification consistent with the work performed: C, H, I, BB, M (ASCP)
  • 1 year clinical laboratory experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory principles, testing methodologies, instrumentation, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems and standard computer applications
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain quality and patient safety standards
  • Ability to provide training and guidance to students and new staff
  • Professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment
