About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently perform and report laboratory findings
- Follow policies and procedures of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
- Comply with FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO regulations
- Facilitate quality patient care
- Perform and evaluate complex laboratory testing
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Maintain quality and patient safety standards
- Provide training and guidance to students and new staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Certification at the Medical Technologist level (ASCP, AMT, or Equivalent) or bachelor's degree and categorical certification consistent with the work performed: C, H, I, BB, M (ASCP)
- 1-year clinical laboratory experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory principles, testing methodologies, instrumentation, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform and evaluate complex laboratory testing accurately and efficiently
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and standard computer applications
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain quality and patient safety standards
- Ability to provide training and guidance to students and new staff
- Professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment
