Key responsibilities & impact

  • Work with the Structural Engineering Manager, P.E., S.E.
  • Inspect properties to assess existing conditions of foundations and building structures
  • Field measure and perform load and capacity calculations
  • Evaluate and select appropriate construction materials
  • Provide technical advice
  • Determine and obtain planning and/or building regulations approval
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and other relevant professional staff
  • Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors
  • Administer contracts
  • Manage projects and prepare scope of work documents
  • Prepare reports, designs, and drawings
  • Participate in project work, leadership development, job shadowing, and interaction with senior leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Rising junior or senior pursuing a Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Degree must be from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Preference for candidates majoring in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD applications, including the ability to convert drawings to 3D models
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Available full-time and flexible during the summer and part-time during the academic year
  • Onsite in Valley, Nebraska
  • Start date: Spring/Summer 2027
