About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Represent Value Dry at networking groups, chambers of commerce, industry associations, ribbon cuttings and community events
- Develop relationships with restoration companies, plumbers, real estate professionals, home inspectors, contractors, property managers and other home-service professionals
- Manage and grow existing referral partnerships through regular communication, office visits, one-to-one meetings, introductions and thoughtful follow-up
- Identify new partnership opportunities through referrals, community involvement, prospecting and consistent field activity
- Plan and attend partner events, educational presentations, lunch-and-learns and office visits
- Serve as a trusted connector by helping customers and partners find reputable resources for needs outside Value Dry’s scope of work
- Recognize potential basement waterproofing, crawlspace, foundation, sump pump and system-maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate partner, prospect, referral and follow-up information in the company’s CRM
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, scheduling and leadership to support partners and customers
- Assist with partner communications, presentations, social media content and community-focused marketing campaigns
- Attend occasional early-morning, evening or weekend events based on business and community needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in business development, relationship management, community engagement, hospitality, recruiting, events, home services, nonprofit work or another people-centered role is preferred
- Genuine enthusiasm for meeting, helping and connecting people
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence starting conversations, making introductions and speaking to small or large groups
- Excellent organization, dependability and follow-through
- Ability to manage a changing calendar, multiple relationships and competing priorities
- Comfortable working independently in the field while remaining accountable and connected to the internal team
- Willingness and ability to learn Value Dry’s services and communicate them accurately without using aggressive sales tactics
- Comfortable using email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media and CRM technology
- Salesforce experience is helpful but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field is preferred; relevant professional and life experience will also be considered
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC
- Availability for occasional early-morning, evening and weekend events
- Positive, energetic, coachable and eager to learn
- Self-motivated, adaptable and able to remain consistent when schedules change or results take time to develop
- Professional, approachable and able to build trust without coming across as overly sales-focused or transactional
