About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise full-stack applications using Java Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and React or Angular
Analyze legacy source code, including C/C++ and Oracle-based applications, and translate business requirements into technical user stories
Perform full-lifecycle software development, including solution design, application development, unit testing, and system testing
Develop maintainable code satisfying approved user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs
Develop complex SQL queries, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and Oracle Exadata database integration solutions
Optimize database queries and tune performance
Build, deploy, configure, and maintain containerized applications and microservices in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes
Develop and support CI/CD build and deployment processes using Jenkins, Git, and Maven
Participate in technical solution design, peer code reviews, and architectural discussions
Collaborate with development teams, architects, and business stakeholders
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, and backlog refinement
Implement application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization practices
Troubleshoot application, database, and deployment issues
Contribute to application performance, software quality, and modernization improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years of full-stack development experience
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience supporting full-lifecycle software development using Java Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and/or modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience supporting large-scale data migration efforts, including complex SQL queries, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and database performance optimization for Oracle Exadata
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing microservices within OpenShift or Kubernetes environments using Jenkins, Git, Maven, or similar technologies
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift or other Kubernetes-based container platforms, including containerization, pod management, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, enterprise application development, and RESTful API integration
Demonstrated experience analyzing legacy applications and translating business requirements into technical specifications and development tasks
Experience developing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise applications throughout the software development lifecycle
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while independently managing assigned development responsibilities
U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract requirements
Preferred: Experience analyzing and modernizing legacy applications developed in Pro*C, COBOL, or other legacy programming languages
Preferred: Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native application development
Preferred: Advanced knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and database-driven enterprise applications
Preferred: Experience supporting federal government IT modernization programs
Preferred: Familiarity with BPMN and business process reengineering
Preferred: Experience supporting complex enterprise application modernization and migration initiatives
