About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide operational and logistical support for development team communications, events, travel, donor events, meeting preparations, data reporting, and other team activities
  • Manage school- and unit-specific stewardship and appeal pieces for three schools, including gift reports, writing, editing, merging, and executing communications with leadership approvals
  • Assist annual giving and stewardship efforts, including email communications, appeal codes, audience data requests, and database data cleaning/tracking
  • Coordinate prospect and donor research, VQ profiles, event and meeting briefings, and bio updates
  • Support development officers with personalized stewardship mailings, packages, and donor or volunteer materials
  • Provide customer service and administrative support to prospects, donors, alumni, faculty, and staff
  • Plan and organize meetings and events, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate event logistics and communications
  • Coordinate team meetings, weekly check-ins, scheduling, and calendars
  • Provide calendaring, expense reporting, procurement, budget management, and ad hoc project support
  • Serve as team purchaser and maintain knowledge of financial, procurement, and university policies
  • Research, resolve, and justify budget or expense discrepancies
  • Manage office files and team supplies
  • Maintain fundraising database and project/information management systems, including data quality control and integrity
  • Generate data reports and dashboards; update historical data dashboards
  • Create activity reports for constituent communications
  • Compose and maintain database and business-process documentation
  • Review and analyze trends and recommend continuous-improvement strategies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree, or the equivalent, is necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience, or the equivalent, is preferred
  • Prefer experience within development and/or higher education
  • Excellent interpersonal management skills
  • Confidentiality and discretion are a must
  • Professional attitude, considerable tact, persuasion, and judgement in interactions with internal and external constituents
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Affinity for mastering new computer programs and database management
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and perform well under pressure
