About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with event set-up and breakdown, including laying a Marley floor, hanging a backdrop, lighting, awards areas, and backstage organization
- Welcome and assist dancers, studio directors, teachers, and other attendees throughout the event
- Maintain professionalism, fairness, positivity, organization, and communication across backstage areas
- Check in dancers and ensure they are prepared to perform on time
- Keep backstage areas safe, clean, clear of debris, and free of unnecessary traffic
- Communicate with event directors and studios to support smooth transitions
- Use iPad, headset, and Slack for team communication
- Prepare, label, bag, organize, restock, and distribute awards and related materials
- Assist with inventory tracking and reporting for event materials and supplies
- Attend mandatory trainings and team meetings
- Follow company policies and perform additional duties assigned by the event director
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to work long event days (8–16 hours)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs (event equipment, merchandise bins, staging materials)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work weekends (Thursday–Monday) and travel from January–June
- Comfortable working in loud, dynamic and fast-paced environments
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to shifting event needs
- HS Diploma or GED (required)
- Previous event dance industry experience preferred but not required
