About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up the merchandise booth, apparel, and related items.
  • Sell merchandise, program booklets, and other items available at the merchandise booth.
  • Provide studio directors with information packets upon arrival.
  • Answer general questions from dancers, parents, directors, and other customers.
  • Greet customers and direct them within the venue.
  • Assist the Event Director when studios check in, including taking the lead when studios check in later and a director is unavailable.
  • Restock and fold merchandise.
  • Complete inventory sheets at the end of each event.
  • Distribute free gifts to registered dancers at regional events.
  • Handle sales transactions.
  • Maintain inventory levels in display cases.
  • Check in remaining studios as needed.
  • Complete mandatory training.
  • Ensure signage is posted before the end of each night for the next day of competition.
  • Break down the merchandise booth after events.
  • Comply with employee handbook policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the event director or designee.
  • Create a positive experience and serve as a customer service liaison throughout events.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to work long event days (8–16 hours)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. (event equipment, merchandise bins, staging materials)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Comfortable working in loud, dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to shifting event needs.
  • HS Diploma or GED (required)
  • Previous event dance industry experience preferred but not required
  • Candidates must be available to work weekends
  • Travel from January–June
