About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet patient and family needs
- Assist the health care team with prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort
- Provide direction and education and begin assuming unit-level leadership responsibilities
- Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific patient care based on medical orders and an integrated multidisciplinary plan
- Safely administer prescribed medications and identify incompatibilities or interactions
- Follow physician or licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines
- Organize work to carry out assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible
- Current LPN Licensure in Virginia
- AHA BLS Certification or equivalent
- Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing
- Experience varies based on transitional duty assignment
- Preferred: Experience as an LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
- Ability to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting 50–100 lbs, prolonged standing and sitting, frequent bending, walking, climbing, and reaching
- Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances
- Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, and logical thinking
- Ability to adapt to frequent change
