About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and lead Veho’s enterprise Transportation & Warehouse Compliance program
  • Develop compliance policies, governance standards, and internal controls across transportation and warehouse operations
  • Build and own the strategic roadmap for hazardous materials and package-handling capabilities
  • Identify and secure additional transportation or carrier authority and regulatory approvals needed to expand network capabilities
  • Support establishment of broker, motor, or air carrier authority
  • Oversee hazardous materials and dangerous goods compliance across the network
  • Develop and maintain standardized hazmat SOPs, work instructions, and operational playbooks
  • Validate hazardous materials data integrity, including UN numbers, hazard classes, packing groups, and shipping requirements
  • Own carrier credentialing and qualification processes
  • Establish ongoing carrier monitoring programs
  • Develop enterprise and network-wide compliance audit programs
  • Oversee compliance with OSHA documentation, operational policies, chain of custody standards, driver verification, package handling, and facility standards
  • Develop, monitor, and verify corrective and preventative action plans
  • Support OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA inspections, agency inquiries, and legal investigations
  • Monitor federal, state, and local transportation and workplace safety regulations
  • Develop executive dashboards and KPIs for compliance, audit performance, carrier health, regulatory readiness, and operational risk
  • Present compliance trends, emerging risks, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to automate compliance monitoring, audit management, and carrier credentialing
  • Support hazardous materials configuration in WMS and operational systems
  • Build compliance training programs and deliver hazardous materials, dangerous goods, and safety training
  • Certify and recertify employees on hazmat handling, packaging, labeling, and shipping
  • Support MHE certifications and new-hire safety orientation
  • Partner with clients on hazardous materials onboarding, operational readiness, and new site launches

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, regulatory compliance, risk management, or related operational leadership
  • Demonstrated experience building or leading enterprise compliance, governance, audit, or operational risk programs
  • Experience managing carrier qualification and ongoing compliance monitoring programs
  • Experience supporting hazardous materials and dangerous goods operations, ideally within warehouse or 3PL environments
  • Experience conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management
  • Experience partnering with Legal, Operations, Procurement, HR, Safety, Security, and executive leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of FMCSA regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT compliance
  • Knowledge of motor carrier authority (MC/DOT)
  • Knowledge of carrier safety ratings (CSA/SMS)
  • Knowledge of transportation insurance requirements
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety and operational compliance
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and dangerous goods regulations (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, EPA)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building executive reporting and compliance dashboards
  • Familiarity with TMS, WMS, audit software, compliance platforms, safety management systems, Lumiform, SharePoint SOP libraries, and Power BI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Safety, Risk Management, or a related field
