About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate commercial strategies into clear priorities for the District
- Monitor progress and identify where greater focus or different approaches are needed
- Analyze sales data, forecasts and market insight
- Identify trends and opportunities and turn insights into commercially sound recommendations
- Lead and develop Sales Representatives across the District
- Recruit, onboard, coach, conduct performance reviews and support ongoing team development
- Communicate strategies clearly and build accountability within the field sales team
- Develop and nurture relationships with key District customers
- Act as a strategic customer partner while Sales Representatives manage day-to-day relationships
- Prepare periodic sales reports
- Negotiate corporate rebates
- Contribute to the strategic direction of key accounts
- Contribute to annual sales forecasts and sales expense planning
- Manage District performance against objectives
- Control expenses within established budgets and maximize profitability
- Monitor sales and call performance
- Follow projects from idea through completion
- Balance strategic projects, customer priorities, team development and commercial performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor's degree is required
- Excellent communication, presentation, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong performance track record as a sales professional
- Previous sales management or supervisory experience is beneficial
- Applied knowledge of the building industry is beneficial
- Knowledge of the VELUX product portfolio is preferred
- Strong analytical ability and comfort working with data
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities are essential
- Experience with Business Warehouse and QlikView is preferred
- Ability to coach and motivate others, build trust and create strong working relationships
- Dependable, professional and high personal integrity
- Ability to work in a team environment while taking ownership and making decisions
- Ability to move between strategy and execution and stay informed about industry trends
