About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team of Data & AI Platform Engineers, DevOps specialists and Data Scientists
- Own and drive the roadmap for the Data & AI platform landscape, including Snowflake, dbt, GenAI Hub, AI Gateway, Cortex Agents and related tooling
- Set platform standards and best practices for security, reliability, governance, cost management and developer experience
- Lead architecture discussions and technology evaluations across the Data & AI ecosystem
- Partner closely with AI delivery teams to ensure platforms and capabilities support business priorities
- Monitor and optimise platform and AI-related costs, including token consumption across AI workloads
- Own platform risk management, resiliency, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Manage strategic vendor relationships
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Procurement and Compliance on platform governance and direction
- Report directly to the Senior Director, Data & AI
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial experience within Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, AI or a related field
- Several years of people leadership experience, including direct personnel responsibility
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing technical teams
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to engage employees and influence stakeholders
- Solid understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies and AI ecosystems
- Understanding of Generative AI, LLM-based solutions and the economics of AI workloads
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, global environment
