About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Job shadow and work alongside and under the supervision of an experienced account manager
  • Perform assigned tasks on accounts within an existing territory to retain customers
  • Communicate with customers, ChemTreat Account Managers, and other company representatives
  • Create, improve, and implement sales strategies with guidance
  • Develop customer relationships and identify key decision makers
  • Research prospects, cold call with senior staff, follow up, and identify customer needs
  • Increase sales and profit margin within the territory with senior staff
  • Engage technical staff and management to develop retention and growth strategies
  • Establish professional relationships with key customer personnel
  • Create effective proposals for current and prospective customers
  • Communicate the ChemTreat value proposition
  • Troubleshoot technical and site-specific process issues over time
  • Audit key unit operations
  • Participate in customer and prospect entertainment in accordance with company policy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science required; Engineering or technical degree preferred
  • 4–6 years of experience interacting with customers at all levels of an organization
  • Experience in water treatment preferred
  • Organizational skills and self-management
  • Self-motivated with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to work as a team player and partner well with others
  • Ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Industry knowledge specific to water treatment, including familiarity with various applications
  • Ability to travel depending on assigned territory
  • Ability to work long hours and varied work schedules
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals and in indoor and outdoor industrial environments
