About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Launch and expand Verano branded products in the Maryland market
- Secure, develop, and manage retail accounts at medical and recreational dispensaries throughout Maryland
- Increase company market share by developing and maintaining key customer relationships
- Promote company brands effectively and creatively within assigned authority
- Create a territory plan aligned with Verano’s strategic vision and account needs
- Identify and qualify prospects, capture new accounts, and expand share of spend within accounts
- Develop strategic relationships with retail buyers and purchasing decision-makers
- Set appointments, conduct in-person visits, send emails, and make cold calls
- Gather market feedback on product preference and quality
- Monitor competitors, market research, sales trends, and account requests
- Introduce new and existing products and use marketing collateral in assigned retail accounts
- Educate accounts through marketing materials, in-store visits, and educational demos
- Maintain disciplined CRM records
- Communicate market and sales dashboard updates to management
- Coordinate with operational partners on packaging, processing, training, and social media
- Respond to customer needs and queries and deliver an excellent customer experience
- Comply with company and state regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Cannabis wholesale sales experience required, with a demonstrated track record of selling branded cannabis products to dispensaries, developing relationships with retail buyers and purchasing decision-makers
- Strong understanding of the Maryland cannabis market, including its retail landscape, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environment
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Access to a reliable vehicle and reliable transportation to support frequent travel throughout the assigned territory
- Proven B2B sales experience with a consultative approach and experience finding growth opportunities via solution-based selling
- Experience managing accounts across a statewide territory
- Ability to deliver training to employees and large teams
- Understanding of medicinal benefits of cannabis and the underlying science
- Experience dealing with highly regulated products within a complex supply chain
- Self-driven and organized with a high level of attention to detail and ability to deliver on deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive statewide travel required, working on the road 4–5 days a week
- Proven track record demonstrating the ability to negotiate closings and reach or exceed sales goals
- Experience with CRM utilization
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to register with the state’s cannabis commissions as an agent
