About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and own market strategies for obtaining and closing new business opportunities
  • Conduct competitive analysis and vertical-market and horizontal-business-development strategies
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline meeting or exceeding annual sales revenue expectations
  • Analyze potential clients and project opportunities in changing market conditions
  • Obtain new project opportunities independently and as part of the sales team
  • Deliver client-focused messaging about clients’ businesses, Veregy’s value proposition, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to meet planning, presentation, and sales-deliverable timelines and requirements
  • Use Salesforce CRM and other tools to track and document sales opportunities
  • Act as the client’s primary point of contact from the initial sales cycle through handoff
  • Support customers with project, financing, and contracting issues
  • Prepare presentations, accurate estimates, quality proposals, and fee estimates with technical and marketing teams
  • Participate in market organizations and conferences to build brand awareness and business opportunities
  • Travel to meet clients and prospective clients and network through dinners and outings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency for all the duties/responsibilities of an account manager
  • Track record of a minimum $10M/year sales
  • Knowledge of facility systems, large project sales processes, and funding alternatives
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, and estimates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to explain technical products
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of technical products to be sold
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to maintain and grow relationships with clients
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients
  • Knowledge and experience in the ESCO industry (Energy Services)
  • Experience with the Educational market K-12 & Higher and Municipal
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and/or related software
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Significant amount (up to 50%) of local travel via car and some national travel via airplane is required
