About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain input data driving replenishment triggers from the Material Resource Planning system, including lead time, reorder point, maximum inventory level, reorder quantity, and scaled purchase quantities
- Determine inventory management methodology for individual materials or material groups
- Assist in developing bottom-up forecast models and liaise with business owners for consensus
- Review MRP-created Purchase Requisitions and release appropriate requisitions for purchase orders
- Ensure quantities and suppliers support best-practice purchasing
- Set up new item numbers, obtain vendor quotes, and set up costs and Bills of Materials in SAP
- Complete regular cost audits
- Collaborate with Quality to manage adherence to customer and regulatory requirements
- Review inventory levels, assess performance, and recommend changes to optimize working capital, customer service, and strategic initiatives
- Manage inventory metrics including turns, GMROII, and inventory aging
- Manage onboarding and sunsetting of materials and material groups
- Improve operations, turnaround times, and work processes while providing seamless customer service
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of related job experience
- Experience with Third Party Subcontractor/Vendor Management
- Experience with Quality Management Systems
- Experience in industrial packaging or distribution business is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
