About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and execute growth and capacity solutions across Verizon's global voice and data infrastructure
  • Serve as the face of the Network organization with key clients
  • Lead a cross-functional team of Directors, Managers, and Engineers
  • Establish Core & Edge Engineering priorities and network plans
  • Ensure survivability of underlying Layer 2 and 3 networks supporting Verizon's customers
  • Direct network consolidation and performance optimization initiatives, including the Frontier integration project, ONTNG hardware turn-downs, eNSE volume expansion, PPR growth, and financial business cases for network diversity
  • Direct volume management and network efficiency across Fios/PON, IP Core and Edge routing, SS7 modernization, and VGMN framework architectures
  • Oversee the Core and Edge Engineering team and strategic execution and performance of more than 200 engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of relevant network experience
  • 6+ years of management and leadership experience
  • Expertise in high-scale capacity enhancements and network resiliency
  • Demonstrated history directing cross-functional engineering groups to execute extensive network rollouts, facility retirement programs, and hardware turn-downs
  • Proven technical leadership spanning IP Core and Edge routing, Broadband and Fios architectures, including OLT, PON, and DSL
  • Experience with Voice and Video Systems and out-of-band management networks (VGMN)
  • Demonstrated financial acumen building business cases and ROI models for capital investment programs, network diversity initiatives, and legacy equipment decommissioning
  • Demonstrated track record converting executive objectives into targeted performance scorecards, volume metrics, and tactical rollout timelines
