About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform field maintenance at multiple cell site locations
  • Maintain facilities, equipment, and inventories
  • Conduct audits and maintain or upgrade cell sites and installations
  • Evaluate network coverage, identify gaps, recommend improvements, and help implement them
  • Optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain network systems and applications
  • Identify overall system availability and performance
  • Perform triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events
  • Generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets across multiple systems
  • Continuously improve business practices
  • Escalate issues to appropriate internal and external engineering teams
  • Provide cell site support across the South Eastern Oregon territory and surrounding area
  • Work onsite at defined locations
  • Provide rotational on-call coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience
  • Three or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time
  • Ability to report to the designated job site/work location within 45 minutes to one hour of notice for rotational on-call coverage
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies, including Telephony Switching, Data Communications, and Network Routers
  • Computer support experience, including troubleshooting PC hardware and configurations
  • Experience with Lucent, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, or Ericsson base station equipment
  • Experience in dark and lit fiber testing using OTDR and fiberscope equipment
  • Vendor management experience
