About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define network architectures and drive innovation for enterprise and inbuilding networks
  • Lead development of technologies supporting enterprise use cases on private and public wireless networks
  • Contribute to technology roadmapping, intellectual property ideation, and standardized deployment architectures
  • Research industry trends and work with vendors and partners to recommend network technologies and solutions
  • Collaborate with technology partners, network vendors, system integrators, product teams, and customers to develop new architectures
  • Lead discussions across planning, engineering, and operations teams to align architectures through network project processes
  • Recommend solutions and deployment architectures Verizon should pursue
  • Build infrastructure for testing, incubation, and connectivity with internal and external partners
  • Design and engineer infrastructure for trials
  • Manage HW and SW progression and development in alignment with product roadmaps and business needs
  • Translate customer requirements and challenges into technology solutions
  • Work with leadership and network and business organizations to develop cohesive, monetizable solutions
  • Drive continuous product innovation and revenue growth
  • Serve as a technical authority and mentor to peers and cross-functional network teams
  • Travel up to 25%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
  • Experience in wireless networking, network architecture, or systems integration
  • Experience with large-scale network architecture or integration projects
  • Experience with 4G/5G core networks, MEC, IP routing, RF design, and edge/private network deployments
  • Understanding of end-to-end wireless architectures and enterprise connectivity solutions
  • Deep technical background in 4G/5G RAN and Core, Private Wireless Networks, and network slicing
  • Strong knowledge of existing and upcoming 3GPP standards and ability to translate them to vendor requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Experience with Private Wireless Networks, portable/mobile network kits, or rapid-deployment network infrastructure is preferred
  • Familiarity with Private Networks, inbuilding network solutions, Private Breakout, and network slicing is preferred
  • Experience building relationships with stakeholders, technical partners, technology vendors, and cross-functional leadership is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders
  • Track record of innovation, patent filings, or defining scalable, productized technical standards is preferred
  • Mentoring and technical leadership skills are preferred
