About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute full-spectrum Red Team engagements involving adversary emulation, social engineering, and EDR/control evasion
  • Ingest and operationalize Cyber Threat Intelligence into procedure-level emulation plans mapped to MITRE ATT&CK
  • Architect, develop, and maintain custom offensive tooling, scripts, and methodologies
  • Evaluate environments, applications, systems, and processes to discover weaknesses
  • Translate discovered weaknesses into actionable real-world attack strategies
  • Navigate complex operational environments and convert strategic goals into execution plans
  • Drive cross-functional security initiatives and lead significant goals affecting multiple business areas
  • Configure and deploy advanced attacker TTPs safely within live environments
  • Provide technical mentorship on offensive campaigns, vulnerability analysis, OPSEC, and professional development
  • Serve as subject matter expert on security vulnerability impact ratings
  • Communicate technical risk scenarios to technical staff, executive leadership, and legal counsel
  • Produce high-level documentation and presentations connecting exploitation details with executive risk management
  • Deliver pragmatic remediation guidance based on realistic risk assessments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Eight or more years of relevant work experience
  • Six or more years of direct offensive security experience leading Adversary Emulation, Adversary Simulation, Threat Emulation, or Threat Simulation engagements
  • Implementation-level familiarity with modern exploitation, including buffer overflows, heap spraying, ROP chains, and logic flaws
  • Deep knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating system internals
  • Ability to modify TTPs to evade EDR/NDR/XDR solutions and bypass AMSI and ETW
  • Advanced proficiency in C#, C/C++, Go, or Java for exploit development and custom tooling
  • Thorough understanding of network protocols and covert command-and-control channels
  • Expertise in Active Directory and Azure AD attacks
  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Advanced industry certifications such as OSEP, OSED, GXPN, CRTO, or OSCP/OSWE
  • Participation in CTFs, contributions to open-source security tools, or speaking at industry conferences
  • Fluency in Blue Team processes and technologies, including SIEM logic, threat hunting, and SOC triage
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting and automation
  • A degree in a technical field
  • Ability to mentor junior technical testers and translate highly technical information for internal customers
