About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical expertise for network transformation, network service issues, network optimization, and maintenance
- Lead wireless network testing, field execution, parameter optimization, and node migration projects across multi-vendor LTE and 5G networks
- Optimize network KPIs to ensure network quality and user experience
- Perform optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network systems and applications
- Evaluate network coverage, identify gaps, recommend improvements, and help implement solutions
- Generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets across multiple systems
- Collect scanner data and analyze RSRP, SINR, and PCI pollution for indoor RF coverage assessments
- Analyze pre- and post-KPI performance and resolve RAN performance issues including call drops, low throughput, interference, and handoff failures
- Perform VoLTE and 5G drive-test analysis to improve accessibility, retainability, MOS scores, and audio gaps
- Execute multi-band LTE and 5G optimization
- Implement RF shaping adjustments and parameter optimization to balance traffic and maximize capacity
- Evaluate service performance trends and isolate root causes
- Perform field drive/walk testing and post-process and analyze logs and KPIs
- Analyze Layer 3 drive-test data and develop optimization strategies
- Diagnose and resolve in-building system issues with senior engineers
- Manage customer eFEMTO deployments and provide technical support for customer-facing issues
- Coordinate technical investigations and testing with regional, area, and headquarters functions
- Provide technical analysis, troubleshooting, and training assistance to markets and regions
- Optimize 5G and LTE RAN networks
- Investigate and resolve customer service complaints
- Support new cell-site integration, including small cells and indoor and outdoor DAS systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
- Three or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
- Proven track record of team leadership, mentoring, and technical oversight
- Strong problem-solving abilities in challenging field and environment scenarios
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional teamwork and technical presentations
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time
- Expertise in 4G and 5G
- Five or more years of hands-on experience in RF field testing, optimization, and wireless network deployment
- Strong working knowledge of 3GPP standards across CDMA, EVDO, LTE, VoLTE, CBRS, and 5G (mmWave, C-Band, DSS, Clean NR)
- Proven experience with OEM platforms including Samsung and Nokia macro and small cell hardware
- Proficiency with field drive test tools and post-processing software, including TEMS, XCAL, XCAP, JDSU, WindCatcher, TrueCall, xLPT, IRIS, and Optis Analyzer
- Familiarity with RF planning and reporting tools such as Atoll, MapInfo Professional, and Google Earth Pro
- Experience with propagation model tuning and validation
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing network environment
- Ability to support rotational needs of a technical environment
