About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Verizon’s device payment program by advising on new initiatives
  • Manage regulatory, licensing, and related filings and applications
  • Respond to regulatory examinations
  • Serve as primary product lawyer for Verizon Visa Card and Verizon’s promotional partnership with Openbank
  • Evaluate the impact of state and federal legal changes on financial products and services
  • Develop communications and training materials for device payment products and services with internal Verizon Consumer Group and Verizon Business Group partners
  • Negotiate and draft agreements, amendments, and side letters with third-party financial and insurance partners
  • Maintain processes for reviewing marketing materials and disclosures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • JD Degree
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training
  • Familiarity with CFPB rules and regulations, ECOA and Regulation B, FCRA and Regulation V, TILA and Regulation Z, and UDAAP prohibitions
  • Background in financial services, fintech, or the credit card industry, including compliance, payments, and card processing
  • Knowledge and substantive experience handling consumer credit cards, lending, installment sales, and/or other consumer financial products and services
  • Experience taking the initiative to develop, lead, and implement projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to professionally manage time, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and process a high volume of work accurately and promptly with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently/autonomously
