About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build applications from completed business requirements specifications as a hands-on individual contributor
- Write code, configure platforms, connect data, and demonstrate results
- Own internal AI tooling for repeatable spec-to-build workflows
- Develop structured intake and requirements-interview agents
- Build reusable prompt, context, and evaluation scaffolding
- Instrument build telemetry
- Design, build, and deploy agents on the Kairos platform
- Integrate SQL Server, BigQuery/EDW, GCP services, Looker, and vendor APIs
- Manage schema drift, partial coverage, and inconsistent data definitions
- Ensure data lineage and governance
- Build evaluation harnesses with shadow-mode testing, precision/recall measurement, override-feedback loops, and human-in-the-loop approval paths
- Ship high-value features to staging weekly
- Demo features to stakeholders on a standing cadence
- Navigate operational and policy complexity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
- Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software end-to-end
- Experience shipping Large Language Model (LLM) applications to end users
- Hands-on expertise in prompt and context engineering, retrieval mechanisms, agent design, and system evaluation
- Experience integrating data across complex, imperfect systems
- Strong SQL skills
- Comfort navigating GCP cloud environments and business intelligence tools such as Looker or equivalent
- Preferred: 10+ years of relevant engineering experience building, shipping, and scaling enterprise software
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Experience working with physical security, Operational Technology (OT), or critical-infrastructure technology is advantageous
- Experience operationalizing and scaling AI systems in production environments
- Experience with regulated-data domains, such as telecom CPNI, eDiscovery, financial compliance, or healthcare
- Experience securely handling highly sensitive information in high-consequence environments
- Exceptional spec literacy, including reading business processes, probing for hidden edge cases, and drafting precise technical specifications
- Proven ability to operate with high autonomy and clear blockers independently
