About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead innovation for Verizon’s ATOM unified, AI-driven automation platform
Lead engineering teams through complex problem-solving, feature implementation, and strategic alignment
Build automation and orchestration capabilities for wireline and wireless networks
Use AI agents to automate network deployments, health checks, configuration audits, and service assurance
Transform static procedure documents into machine-readable, executable procedures for AI agents
Consolidate network procedures and workflows into a unified automation system
Develop predictive root cause analysis using graph databases and advanced AI models
Design and implement closed-loop, self-healing network frameworks using real-time telemetry
Architect orchestration layers using gRPC, NETCONF, and YANG for multi-vendor SDN control
Partner with business stakeholders to translate iEN, IP, Transport, and 5G Network Functions use cases into scalable platform capabilities
Provide technical leadership to onshore and offshore development teams
Perform full-cycle application development, including design, coding, and testing, using AI tools
Serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate with quality assurance and production support teams to maintain system stability

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer building, deploying, and maintaining highly available, fault-tolerant cloud-native applications and services
Experience utilizing modern back-end frameworks with a strong focus on CI/CD for network infrastructure
Deep knowledge of Python, Linux, and JavaScript
Advanced Git usage
Strong working knowledge of OpenStack, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or VCP WebScale
Experience with SQL, MariaDB, or MongoDB databases
Experience practicing startup development methodology
Expertise in developing Generative AI solutions and deploying advanced AI agents within a Python ecosystem
Experience engineering RAG architectures and utilizing vector databases
Advanced LLM prompt engineering for frameworks such as Gemini and Claude
Proficiency building orchestrations using LangChain, LangGraph, LangFlow, and MCP Servers
Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP
Experience with Vue.js, FastAPI, Django, Flask, Fastify, or Temporal engine
Deep telecom domain expertise in automation, orchestration, and service assurance for wireline and wireless networks
Understanding of iEN, IP, Transport, 5G Network Functions, networking protocols, and AP, ASPN, ATLAS, or similar automation platforms
Certifications in Agentic AI, Machine Learning, or UI/UX design are advantageous
