Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review standard pricing costing within Verizon Business Group's Wholesale organization to determine financial impact and alignment with Verizon's strategic plan
  • Partner with product, pricing development, sales operations, network, and technology services teams to develop standard costs for new products, enhancements, geographic expansions, and lifecycle support
  • Perform complex financial analysis to determine financial viability, risks, and rewards
  • Prepare and review financial summaries with executive leadership and make business recommendations
  • Identify complex business performance issues and present insights in consolidated internal reports and external presentations
  • Oversee capital planning review and analysis and guide optimal use of cash
  • Provide trusted, value-added decision support and guidance to executive management
  • Provide strategic financial and operational insights using recurring performance reports, ad hoc analysis, and performance reviews
  • Evaluate business trends and assess monthly and quarterly business performance to drive strategic business analysis
  • Advise on risk and opportunity considerations for managing costs and growing revenue and profitability
  • Recommend actions to address planning and business performance issues
  • Identify and assess cost and effect patterns not captured in existing reporting
  • Perform monthly performance reviews of business unit initiatives and identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead ad hoc presentation development and executive reviews
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience or specialized training
  • Six or more years of relevant financial experience
  • Experience with communication and presentation to senior leadership
  • Business case development and analysis experience
  • Experience with customer specific, profitability analysis
  • Ability to understand and model financial impacts associated with payment term or methodology changes, including cash flow impact and fees
  • Thorough knowledge of Verizon Business Group's product portfolio, business units, and profitability
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA
  • High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including ability to analyze large amounts of data
  • Strong strategic skills and ability to identify and assess key points, implications, and recommendations
  • Proven ability to structure a business case around a high-level strategic vision
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices, and International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Advanced understanding of report query and design
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management
  • Familiarity with Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance
