Key responsibilities & impact

Review standard pricing activity across the Verizon Business Group to assess financial impact and alignment with Verizon’s strategic plan
Partner with product, pricing development, sales operations, and costing teams on business cases for new products, enhancements, geographic expansions, and lifecycle support
Perform complex financial analysis to evaluate viability, risks, and rewards
Prepare and review financial summaries with executive leadership and make business recommendations
Identify complex business performance issues and present insights in internal reports and external presentations
Oversee capital planning review and analysis and guide optimal use of cash
Provide decision support and guidance to executive management
Partner with Sourcing and Legal on vendor contract reviews and product-development SOW investments and costs
Facilitate leadership approvals
Partner with Revenue Accounting and Accounting Policy regarding revenue booking and gross and service revenue reporting
Provide strategic financial and operational insights through recurring reports, ad hoc analysis, and performance reviews
Evaluate business trends and monthly and quarterly performance
Advise on risks and opportunities related to cost management and revenue and profitability growth
Recommend action plans for planning and business performance issues
Identify cost and effect patterns not captured in existing reporting
Conduct monthly performance reviews of business-unit initiatives and identify improvement opportunities
Lead ad hoc presentation development and executive reviews
Present and communicate to all levels of the business

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
Six or more years of relevant financial experience with strong management potential
Significant experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
Significant business case development and analysis experience
Experience with product- and customer-specific profitability analysis
Ability to understand and model financial impacts associated with payment term or methodology changes, including cash flow impact and fees
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Thorough knowledge of Verizon Business Group’s product portfolio and business units
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
Professional certification such as CPA or CMA
High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including analyzing large amounts of data
Strong strategic skills and ability to identify and assess key points, implications, and recommendations
Proven ability to structure a business case around a high-level strategic vision
Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, GAAP, tax reporting and accounting practices, and IFRS
Advanced understanding of report query and design
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management
Familiarity with Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance, and Oracle EPM
