About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct root-cause investigations into operational failures, security events, and complex fraud schemes involving wireline and wireless architectures
  • Partner with the Executive Relations Team to provide security support for sensitive account requests and manage urgent, high-visibility escalations
  • Oversee account lock removal and account protections, including SIM lock and port freeze
  • Use Splunk and enterprise tools to analyze log data, build custom searches, track advanced threat patterns, and detect system anomalies
  • Write, optimize, and execute SQL queries across SQL Server, Teradata, and Google Cloud Platform to extract and synthesize raw data
  • Review daily security events to identify suspicious internal or external threat actor behavior
  • Analyze operational and sensitive data to identify trends, establish baselines, and detect outliers or emerging threats
  • Manage multiple complex projects and investigative work streams while ensuring timely deliverables and operational compliance
  • Adapt to changes in systems, operational processes, data structures, and the threat landscape
  • Identify ways to implement AI into daily operations
  • Translate technical insights into executive briefings and security solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training
  • Hands-on experience writing and executing SQL queries in production environments
  • Solid understanding of wireless and wireline systems, operational workflows, and account security
  • Experience in fraud detection, security, risk management, or threat operations
  • Ability to analyze unstructured operational data, recognize patterns, and isolate system outliers
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, and build trust across diverse teams
  • Proficiency in Splunk for data extraction, log monitoring, and anomaly detection preferred
  • Experience managing multiple technical work streams, project deadlines, and cross-functional technical relationships preferred
  • Ability to turn complex technical findings into clear root-cause analyses and executive-level presentations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing formal executive summaries under tight deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to provide scheduled and unscheduled after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage
