About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner strategically with the VP of Operations, B2B West within Verizon Business Group
  • Provide essential support to senior leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Align organizational initiatives, actions, and resources with business objectives
  • Track progress, identify challenges, and develop innovative solutions
  • Provide executive-level communications support
  • Develop executive presentations for internal and external meetings, Group Reviews, staff meetings, All Hands, and speaking engagements
  • Manage agendas, communications, and meeting materials for leadership and VP staff meetings, site visits, webcasts, roundtables, and town halls
  • Create and manage team communications that drive engagement and connect employees to business results and priorities
  • Advise leaders, help prioritize tasks and appointments, and act as a proactive sounding board
  • Build executable strategies that drive customer and revenue growth
  • Manage and track organizational headcount and staffing, including contractors
  • Develop employee engagement and recognition strategies, including volunteering, Pulse Survey analysis, and action planning
  • Design and develop operational excellence programs, process improvements, and talent transformation and development initiatives
  • Ensure initiative integration with consumer-centric, mobile-first, and digital initiatives
  • Evaluate reporting needs, gather and analyze data, and make recommendations
  • Manage the budget cycle and support budget preparation and monthly and quarterly budget reviews
  • Develop mitigation plans to meet budget targets
  • Support and review business-case development for strategic business-transformation programs
  • Support on-site meetings, partner meetings, and internal or external events
  • Prepare supported teams for external participants, presentations, and engagements
  • Coordinate with Executive Administrative Assistants to ensure leaders have the right information, materials, and schedules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor degree or four or more years of experience
  • Six or more years of leadership experience in operations, communications, project management or customer service
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive experience producing and delivering presentations to all levels of management
  • Proven ability to create short- and long-term strategies
  • Ability to analyze data and make process/business decisions and recommendations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience handling confidential information and forward-looking data
  • Degree in Business, Marketing or Project Management preferred as an additional qualification
  • Electronic presentation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Project management experience
  • Exceptional PC skills with Google Docs, Advanced PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Access
  • Prior experience in reporting, analytics, or an operational role
  • Strong understanding of analytics
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and maintaining accountability for major business initiatives
