About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare business license filings for local license authorities and regulatory agencies through an outsourcer
  • Process payments according to CPS-103 controls and manage filing-related liabilities and expenses
  • Work with Accounts Payable, Treasury, and in-house payment systems
  • Update business license filings based on new products and offers
  • Participate in new product launches, billing IT developments, and legal entity restructuring by communicating regulatory compliance impacts and requirements
  • Review account reconciliations and accrual journal entries
  • Analyze surcharge recovery and expense gaps
  • Prepare analyses for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and purchase price adjustments
  • Prepare budgets, metrics, cash forecasts, and monthly reports
  • Adhere to SOX controls and assist with audits and billing inquiries
  • Resolve regulatory notices accurately and promptly
  • Research legislative changes with Regulatory and Tax Legal teams
  • Implement compliance best practices
  • Identify process improvements and streamline procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 or more years of work experience
  • Three or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
  • Experience in Tax, Finance, or equivalent
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables with competing timelines
  • Ability to accurately manage deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Regulatory experience preferred
  • Experience with tax research, tax accounting, SOX processes, telecommunication taxes, and tax saving strategies preferred
  • Proficiency with large-volume data analysis for tax return preparation and filing, including billing systems, preferred
  • Previous exposure to SAP or other major general ledger suite software preferred
  • Working knowledge of automation tools such as Alteryx, Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, Gemini, Google Suite, and Google App Script preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills preferred
