About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the annual budgeting cycle for the Engineering and Operations Directorate, including the schedule, assumptions, templates, negotiation rounds, consolidation, and presentation of the budget to the CFO and Executive Committee.
Build the bottom-up budget by cost center, account classification, project, and geography, reconciling it with top-down targets and clearly identifying gaps and action plans.
Structure the CAPEX budget by program and business case, including network expansion, customer connections, capacity and transport, maintenance, asset replacement, technology modernization, and regulatory projects.
Establish and maintain a driver-based assumptions model for volumes, prices, productivity, adjustments, inflation, energy, regional labor costs, and outsourcing.
Apply and defend zero-based budgeting criteria for discretionary costs.
Ensure the proper classification of expenses and investments in accordance with accounting policies and applicable standards.
Formalize the approved budget in a controlled, versioned baseline, with change management.
Analyze actual results versus budget and the prior year on a monthly basis, decomposing variances by volume, price, mix, and efficiency.
Maintain a view of costs by account classification, cost center, process, and geography.
Identify, quantify, and track efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives, with baselines, targets, owners, deadlines, and validation reflected in accounting results.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Postgraduate degree/MBA in strategic planning or business management (preferred).
Proven experience in operational or financial planning or project management.
Advanced knowledge of data analysis and planning tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
Ability to make data-driven decisions based on KPI analysis.
Strong team management skills and effective communication with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
