About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Run new business sales end-to-end, from outbound sourcing through negotiation to signed contract
  • Sell to market-rate and affordable housing developers/operators
  • Qualify leads generated personally, by BDRs, and through inbound channels
  • Advance prospects through long, multi-stakeholder sales processes
  • Manage deals involving land acquisition, permitting, zoning, and financing dependencies
  • Build Vessel's sales process, including deal stages, qualification criteria, proposal structure, and negotiation playbook
  • Develop expertise in developer/operator decision-making, procurement processes, and objections
  • Share market insights with the broader team to improve positioning and product
  • Collaborate directly with leadership on deal strategy, pricing, and go-to-market decisions
  • Document repeatable sales patterns and lay the groundwork for the sales team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of closing experience, ideally in complex, long-cycle, multi-million dollar sales
  • Experience in a scrappy, early-stage company
  • Experience selling into multi-stakeholder processes with long cycles and external dependencies
  • Experience in construction, real estate development, or proptech from an early-stage startup, or experience in real estate/development
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities and strategies evolve quickly
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage and persuade technical, financial, and executive stakeholders
  • Willingness to try things, learn quickly, and iterate
  • Comfortable with rejection and long, multi-month $10M+ sales cycles
  • Must be located within the Florida market, with a strong preference for Miami
  • Must be willing to travel across Florida to win business and manage accounts
