About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support daily payment operations to ensure accounts are funded and payments are processed accurately and on time
Monitor and manage the Payments Operations mailbox, distributing tasks and responding to queries
Process payments using banking portals such as Barclays.net, Barclays File Gateway, and RBS Bankline
Investigate and resolve queries related to inbound and outbound payments
Act as a first-line escalation point for payment-related issues
Reconcile payments with blue-chip banking partners
Assist with reconciliation of internal broker and treasury accounts
Liaise with banks to resolve payment issues and ensure smooth operations
Report to the Head of Treasury
Take ownership of daily payment operations, payment accuracy, issue resolution, stakeholder relationships, and technical and operational growth

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or another relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
Positive, dependable, and proactive mindset
Comfortable asking questions and taking initiative
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Calm under pressure and deadline-driven
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
No prior experience required
Internship or academic experience in financial services or payments is nice to have
Familiarity with banking portals or payment systems is nice to have
Interest in treasury, payments, or financial operations is nice to have
