About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support and enable sales for VIAVI Fibre Optic and Metro-Ethernet instrument solutions in Central Europe
- Deliver high-level pre-sales technical support to customers on Fibre Optic and Metro-Ethernet instrument solutions
- Respond to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in collaboration with account managers
- Deliver product, solution, and technology presentations at roadshows, technical seminars, and webinars
- Penetrate opportunities and accounts for sales enablement
- Deliver education and awareness of test and reporting methods and procedures
- Liaise with customers on instrument field trials and implementation
- Discover ecosystem trends and activities and optimize product positioning
- Provide feedback to Business Units, Product Line Managers, and R&D to increase innovation
- Share experiences and best practices across the EMEA Solutions Engineer team
- Transfer product and technology knowledge to Sales and Channel Partners through training sessions
- Participate in monthly EMEA Solutions Engineer virtual meetings
- Measure progress, identify gaps, and define recovery actions
- Drive sales growth in the Central Europe region
Requirements
What you’ll need- Telecom Science & Electronics Engineer diploma with Ethernet/IP and Fibre Optic expertise
- Understanding of Metro-Ethernet and Fibre Optic technologies and testing, including Ethernet, IP/TCP/UDP, Ethernet Optics (100G/400G/800G & 1.6T), Ethernet Services Activation (RFC2544, RFC6349, Y.1564), Performance Monitoring (TWAMP, Y.1731), FTTx, OTDR, OSA, PMD/CD, HollowCore Fibre, and Optical Transport
- Understanding of outside plant cabling solutions and topologies including joining
- Understanding of challenges during installation, maintenance, and network migrations in fibre optic domains
- Proven experience in pre-sales technical support with major vendors and T&M equipment vendors
- Ability to travel 50% throughout Central Europe
