About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the full scope of HR operations for the Carol Stream location
- Lead, coach, and develop a direct report supporting the site
- Serve as escalation point for complex employee relations, compliance, and policy matters
- Own employee relations strategy, investigations, disciplinary action, performance concerns, and conflict resolution
- Coach and develop managers on performance management and difficult conversations
- Determine corrective action in partnership with legal and HR leadership
- Oversee separations, severance strategy, and negotiations
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment strategy and partner with hiring managers
- Own workforce planning and headcount forecasting
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and applicable state/local employment law
- Lead the FMLA/ADA interactive process and accommodation matters
- Own HR policy and handbook content
- Lead audits and manage agency inquiries and responses
- Lead performance review cycles, PIPs, and calibration
- Drive succession planning and talent development
- Own training rollout and organizational development initiatives
- Own job classification, pay equity analysis, and compensation recommendations
- Oversee HRIS data integrity and advanced reporting
- Lead annual merit and bonus cycle execution
- Partner with the HR Director and site leadership on workforce planning, organization design, and change management
- Lead M&A integration activities as needed
- Drive HR projects and process improvement initiatives
- Regularly travel to two additional Florida sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 7-10+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience leading or mentoring HR staff
- Deep working knowledge of employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, state variances)
- Demonstrated experience independently managing complex employee relations issues and investigations
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Workday, ADP, etc.)
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence senior leadership
- Sound judgment and conflict resolution at a senior level
- Strong business acumen
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong documentation, analytical, and reporting skills
- People leadership skills, including coaching, developing, and holding HR staff accountable
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is an advantage
- Experience in a multi-site or manufacturing environment is an advantage
- Experience leading acquisition integration or multi-state compliance efforts is an advantage
- Must be currently authorized to work in the applicable country without employer-sponsored immigration support
