About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out sales objectives and implement sales and account strategies set by management
- Discover, develop and realize project opportunities in the sales district
- Solicit new customers and contractors to increase product demand
- Cultivate long-term relationships with key account decision makers
- Plan and execute sales calls using CRM to manage efforts and track results
- Deliver professional sales presentations to cross-functional teams, architects, distributors, builders, developers, engineers, plant managers, code officials, educators and contractors
- Develop and implement key account plans for strategic accounts
- Maintain scheduled customer calls and visits based on CRM segmentation strategy
- Grow the customer and contractor database within the territory
- Advance market growth by communicating product value propositions to constituent groups
- Manage annual sales plans and strategic account plans
- Work with local independent manufacturer’s representative agencies as directed by regional sales leadership
- Travel to provide training and support
- Follow up on trade show and other leads
- Support cross-functional teams to ensure client deliveries are executed as agreed
- Promote adoption of EDI and VMI by distributors
- Maintain monthly sales reports and business metrics
- Identify business opportunities and report trends and new products
- Provide weekly updates and daily/weekly/monthly reports to management
- Track travel and incidental expenses and submit timely expense reports
- Maintain and use CRM/SAP Mobile Sales calendars to document opportunities, sales calls, customers, contractors and activities
- Attend meetings as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 3 years product sales experience
- Valid and Active Driver’s License required
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP and CRM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good listening skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong relationship building and strategic selling skills
- Proven selling ability and proven track record of business development
- Effective sales call planning and execution skills
- Business acumen to meet revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction objectives
- Ability to interpret and forecast changes in customers’ buying patterns and product requirements
- Ability to function autonomously or as a team player
- Ability to identify market dynamics and implement competitive practices
- Ability to calculate discounts, profit margins, unit conversions, percentages, area and volume
