About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
  • Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned and directed by the Team LPHA Clinician
  • Administer, document, store, and dispose of medications according to MAP policies, funding source regulations, and company policy
  • Teach Persons Served medication management
  • Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
  • Help new residents settle in and support residents who have difficulty sleeping at night
  • Encourage good sleep habits
  • Perform day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
  • Maintain safety, physical site licensing, Human Rights, maintenance, and operational standards
  • Support meal preparation and physical site maintenance
  • Encourage social interaction and foster a collaborative, welcoming residential environment
  • Serve as a resource for neighbors
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
  • Assist with orientation of new staff
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred
  • Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply
  • Valid US driver's license required at time of employment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
  • Must pass a driver's screening background check
  • If using a personal vehicle, must possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid required within two weeks of hire
  • MAP required within 150 days of hire
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift
  • Ability to assist Persons Served with tasks of daily living
  • Ability to remain stationary 50% of the time as needed
  • Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
  • Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, plus ability to adjust focus
  • Strong commitment to Persons Served living, working, maintaining meaningful relationships, and receiving community resources and supports
  • Skills to establish supportive, trusting relationships with Persons Served, families, and neighbors
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability, and gender issues
  • Ability to balance competing priorities
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
