About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
  • Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned by the Team LPHA Clinician
  • Administer, document, store, and dispose of medications according to MAP requirements, regulations, and company policy
  • Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
  • Provide physical site maintenance and ensure a safe, comfortable, and clean environment
  • Help new residents settle in and support residents who have difficulty sleeping
  • Encourage good sleep habits and social interaction among residents
  • Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
  • Adhere to safety, maintenance, Human Rights, licensing, and operational policies
  • Teach medication management to Persons Served
  • Support meal preparation and smooth operation of the residence
  • Welcome and respect residents' families, friends, neighbors, and other important people
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
  • Assist with orientation of new staff
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
  • Perform maintenance activities according to schedule
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply
  • Driving is required using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle
  • If using a personal vehicle, possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record subject to annual checks
  • Valid US driver's license required at employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
  • Pass a driver's screening background check
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift
  • Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copier, and printer
  • Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
  • Ability to assist Persons Served with tasks of daily living
  • Ability to remain stationary 50% of the time as needed
  • Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives
  • Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus ability to adjust focus
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid required within two weeks of hire
  • MAP required within 150 days of hire
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
