About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
- Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
- Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned
- Administer, document, store, and dispose of medications according to MAP policies and regulations
- Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
- Help new residents settle in and support residents who have difficulty sleeping
- Encourage good sleep habits and social interaction
- Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
- Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean, and collaborative residential environment
- Perform meal preparation and physical site maintenance
- Encourage participation of residents, families, friends, and neighbors
- Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
- Assist with orientation of new staff
- Complete required documentation and incident reports
- Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred
- Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred
- Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply
- Driving is required using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle
- Personal vehicle users must possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record
- Valid US driver's license must be presented at the time of employment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Must pass a driver's screening background check
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform physically active work
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
- Ability to assist Persons Served with activities of daily living
- Ability to communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives
- CPR required within two weeks of hire
- First Aid required within two weeks of hire
- MAP required within 150 days of hire
