About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting.
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living.
  • Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned.
  • Administer, document, store, and dispose of medications according to MAP policies, regulations, and company policy.
  • Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed.
  • Help new residents settle in and support residents who have difficulty sleeping.
  • Encourage healthy sleep habits and social interaction among residents.
  • Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director.
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean residential environment.
  • Follow safety, maintenance, Human Rights, licensing, and operational policies.
  • Create opportunities for residents to participate in meal preparation and site maintenance.
  • Help residents prepare meals and teach medication management.
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings.
  • Assist with orientation of new staff.
  • Complete required and incident documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives.
  • Perform scheduled physical site maintenance and other assigned duties.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply.
  • Driving is required using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
  • Personal-vehicle drivers must maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record.
  • A valid US driver's license must be presented at the time of employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months.
  • Must pass a driver's screening background check.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform physically active work.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift.
  • Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copier, and printer.
  • Ability to assist Persons Served with activities of daily living.
  • Ability to communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives.
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire.
  • First Aid required within two weeks of hire.
  • MAP required within 150 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make independent judgments and decisions.
  • Ability to work professionally and confidentially.
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability, and gender issues.
