About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
  • Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as directed by the Team LPHA Clinician
  • Support new residents settling in and residents experiencing difficulty sleeping
  • Encourage healthy sleep habits
  • Administer, document, store, teach, and dispose of medications according to MAP requirements and applicable regulations
  • Provide crisis intervention and access on-call backup when needed
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean, and well-maintained residence
  • Perform physical site maintenance according to schedule
  • Support meal preparation and resident participation in household operations
  • Encourage social interaction and a collaborative, welcoming environment
  • Serve as a resource for neighbors
  • Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
  • Follow safety, maintenance, Human Rights, licensing, and operational policies
  • Attend trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
  • Assist with orientation of new staff
  • Complete required and incident documentation
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred
  • Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions encouraged to apply
  • Valid driver's license required at employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
  • Adequate insurance and safe driving record if using a personal vehicle
  • Ability to pass a driver's screening background check
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid required within two weeks of hire
  • MAP required within 150 days of hire
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, and assist Persons Served with daily living tasks
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives
  • Specific close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision abilities, plus ability to adjust focus
  • Strong commitment to community living, supportive relationships, cultural sensitivity, independent judgment, confidentiality, and balancing competing priorities
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
