About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
- Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
- Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned
- Administer, document, store and dispose of medications according to MAP policies, funding regulations and company policy
- Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
- Maintain a safe, comfortable and clean residential environment
- Help new residents settle in and support residents with difficulty sleeping; encourage good sleep habits
- Perform day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director
- Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches
- Adhere to safety, maintenance, Human Rights, licensing and operational policies
- Teach residents medication management
- Create opportunities for resident participation in meal preparation and site maintenance
- Encourage social interaction and a collaborative environment for residents, families, friends and neighbors
- Prepare meals with residents
- Participate in trainings, supervision and staff meetings
- Assist with orientation of new staff
- Complete required documentation and incident reports
- Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
- Perform physical site maintenance according to schedule
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred
- Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply
- Driving is required using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle
- If using a personal vehicle, must possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record subject to annual checks
- Valid US driver's license must be presented at employment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Must pass a driver's screening background check
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
- Ability to assist PS with tasks of daily living
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed
- Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand, and move around the facility
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with PS, staff, and external representatives
- Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- CPR required within two weeks of hire
- First Aid required within two weeks of hire
- MAP required within 150 days of hire
