About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service and routine, episodic nursing aide care to adults with complex medical needs and psychiatric conditions
  • Administer, document, store, and dispose of medication under MAP requirements and company policy
  • Implement treatment plans and provide activities-of-daily-living support, including household chores and cooking
  • Promote housing permanency, community tenure, self-sufficiency, and community integration
  • Take and document vital signs, skin care, toileting, and passive range-of-motion exercises
  • Assist or accompany people served to medical, dialysis, and psychiatric appointments
  • Report changes in medical condition or mental status to the Nurse or Clinical Program Director
  • Promote access to healthcare and employment services
  • Orient new residents and CNA staff
  • Create opportunities for participation in meal preparation and site maintenance
  • Encourage social interaction and maintain a collaborative residential environment
  • Advocate for people served and apply recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, strengths-based, Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change, WRAP, and Cognitive Behavioral approaches
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, staff meetings, and quality improvement activities
  • Complete required, incident, and other documentation
  • Use crisis intervention techniques and access on-call backup when needed
  • Perform physical site maintenance and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current Certified Nurse Assistant valid in Massachusetts required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in human services preferred
  • Experience working with people with psychiatric conditions and/or co-occurring disorders strongly preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Current, valid US driver's license held for at least 6 months
  • Willingness to use a fully insured personal vehicle during the job
  • Ability to become CPR and First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment
  • Ability to become MAP certified within 150 days of employment
  • Successful CORI, reference, multi-state background, and driving record checks
  • Knowledge of Nursing Assistant principles, modalities, best practices, and evidence-based practices
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Ability to perform physically active duties, including lifting at least 25 pounds
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions encouraged to apply
