About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise Clubhouse members and assess, develop, and implement Action Plans
- Promote a supportive, empowering services environment
- Communicate and reinforce Clubhouse culture and philosophy
- Support Clubhouse policies and procedures
- Teach, coach, facilitate, and support skill development across work areas
- Provide meaningful work opportunities and encourage participation
- Maintain program records according to Massachusetts Department of Mental Health standards
- Develop and maintain local employer partnerships for Transitional and Supported Employment
- Assess members' vocational skills and interests and educate them about employment opportunities
- Assist with job development and job search activities
- Provide coaching, training, and support at the Clubhouse and community job sites
- Provide travel training, social skills training, and vocational skill training as needed
- Perform Transitional Employment Program placement management, including training, scheduling, monitoring, absence coverage, and partner relationships
- Provide or arrange benefits counseling
- Develop collaborative relationships with vocational resources and service providers
- Attend training, conferences, staff meetings, supervision, and support orientation of new staff and members
- Maintain communication with supervisors and coworkers
- Help maintain the physical site
- Help plan and participate in Clubhouse events
- Follow Clubhouse, divisional, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required; experience may substitute for education
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Services required
- Advanced training, experience, or credentials related to vocational rehabilitation preferred
- Strong time management and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, good judgment, and ability to coach and mentor
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current, valid US driver's license held for at least 6 months; other posting language states at least one year
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 2 weeks of employment
- Must obtain MAP certification within 150 days of employment
- Must pass CORI, reference, multi-state background, and driving record checks
- Knowledge of Clubhouse standards and practices
- Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, values, and practices
- Knowledge of assessment practices and documentation standards
- Knowledge of learning and communication styles
- Knowledge of empowerment, self-advocacy, and peer support techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of community resources, job, and educational opportunities
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and office equipment
- Knowledge of reasonable accommodation law and advocacy techniques
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting at least 25 pounds
- Ability to assist clients with activities of daily living
- Ability to operate computers, calculators, copiers, printers, and other office equipment
- Driving may require maintaining adequate personal vehicle insurance and a safe driving record
