About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct support to people with behavioral conditions and intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or individual living arrangement
Work with the people served, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to build independence skills and improve quality of life
Administer medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MED)
Implement treatment plans
Assist with activities of daily living, including household chores and cooking
Provide transportation for outings such as shopping and doctor's appointments
Help develop the overall quality of the program and staff skills
Model skills for program staff
Assist with training, onboarding, and welcoming new staff

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of two years' experience in a Residential Counselor role
Demonstrated track record as an exceptional performer and team-player while in the Residential Counselor role
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Current, valid US drivers' license held for at least 6 months
Driving is a requirement using either a Vinfen van or personal, insured vehicle
Must be able to become CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certified within 60 days of employment
Must be able to become MAC certified within 150 days of employment
Must successfully pass a CORI and SORI reference, multi-state background and driving record check
