About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct service in the Restoration Center Respite
- Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
- Implement treatment plan support interventions as assigned
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean physical site
- Orient new Persons Served to the Respite
- Collaborate with Respite Program staff to address Persons Served needs
- Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
- Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
- Participate in meal preparation and physical site maintenance
- Encourage social interaction and create a collaborative environment
- Advocate for Persons Served
- Attend trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
- Assist with orientation of new staff
- Complete required documentation and incident reports
- Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
- Help Persons Served use crisis intervention techniques and access on-call backup
- Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral interventions
- Transport and accompany Persons Served to community appointments
- Promote safety during transportation
- Arrange routine vehicle maintenance and comply with company vehicle procedures
- Develop professional relationships with community resources and service providers
- Monitor Persons Served status and report concerns or incidents to supervisor
- Pick up and drop off program materials and supplies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent required
- One to two years related experience working with people with psychiatric disability and/or co-occurring disorders preferred
- Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport PS
- Valid driver's license required at employment
- At least 21 years of age
- Maintained a valid US driver's license for at least one year
- Pass a driver's screening background check
- CPR within 2 weeks of hire
- First Aid within 2 weeks of hire
- Ability to collaborate as a member of multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams
- Ability to make independent judgements and decisions
- Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
- Ability to triage/balance competing priorities
- Ability to function under pressure in fast passed health and human services environments
- Knowledge of person-centered, strength based, recovery-oriented values and principles and modalities
- Knowledge of clinical and psychiatric rehabilitation values, principles and techniques
- Knowledge of health risks of prevalence with adults with SMI/SUD
- Knowledge of health promotion and clinical care coordination techniques
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive services
- Knowledge of human, legal, civil rights, community and other resources
- Knowledge of empowerment and self-advocacy techniques
- Knowledge of available community health, mental health, and SUD services and resources
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and lift at least 25 pounds
- Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
- Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives
