About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in the Restoration Center Respite
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
  • Implement treatment-plan support interventions as directed by the Respite Clinical Program Director or Supervisor
  • Help orient new Persons Served
  • Collaborate with Respite program staff to address Persons Served's needs
  • Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and clean environment
  • Participate in meal preparation and physical site maintenance
  • Encourage social interaction and create a collaborative environment
  • Advocate for Persons Served
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
  • Assist with new staff orientation
  • Complete required and incident documentation
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
  • Help Persons Served use crisis intervention techniques and access on-call backup when needed
  • Support evidence-based and best practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral interventions
  • Transport and accompany Persons Served to community appointments
  • Promote safety during transportation and arrange routine vehicle maintenance
  • Comply with company vehicle procedures and licensing standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and service providers
  • Monitor Persons Served status and report concerns or incidents to the supervisor
  • Pick up and drop off program materials and supplies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • One to two years related experience working with people with psychiatric disability and/or co-occurring disorders preferred
  • Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport Persons Served
  • Must possess and maintain adequate insurance when using a personal vehicle
  • Must maintain a safe driving record subject to annual checks
  • Valid US driver's license must be presented at the time of employment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least one year
  • Must pass a driver's screening background check
  • Ability to collaborate as a member of multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work professionally and confidentially
  • Ability to triage and balance competing priorities
  • Ability to function under pressure in fast-paced health and human services environments
  • Knowledge of person-centered, strengths-based, recovery-oriented values, principles, and modalities
  • Knowledge of clinical and psychiatric rehabilitation values, principles, and techniques
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive services
  • Skills to establish supportive, trusting relationships with Enrollees
  • Knowledge of human, legal, civil rights, community, health, mental health, and SUD resources
  • Ability to perform physically active direct-care duties, assist with daily living tasks, and lift at least 25 pounds
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
  • CPR within 2 weeks of hire
  • First Aid within 2 weeks of hire
