About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct support on an as-needed basis to adults with mental health conditions or behavioral health challenges
- Support people in small group residential settings or individual living arrangements
- Work with people served, their families, friends, employers and other support staff
- Build independence skills and increase quality of life
- Administer medication under the Medication Administration Certification Program
- Implement treatment plans
- Assist with activities of daily living, including household chores and cooking
- Provide transportation for community outings, shopping and doctor's appointments
- Strengthen residents' connection to their community
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with people with mental health conditions or behavioral health challenges strongly preferred
- Strong time management and writing skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current, valid US driver's license held for at least 6 months
- Access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle
- Must be able to become CPR and First Aid certified upon hire
- Must be able to become Safety Care certified within 60 days of employment
- Must be able to become MED certified within 150 days of employment
- Must successfully pass CORI, SORI, reference, national fingerprinting and driving record checks
